This project has been a pleasure to work on. The Naylor Love site team went above and beyond to ensure that Selwyn District Council received a fantastic facility and that the future tenants could commence their fit-outs in advance of completion.

Close collaboration achieves best-for-project outcomes despite the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Toka Hāpai Selwyn Health Hub houses a birthing unit, community dental clinic, radiology clinic, physiotherapist, medical centre and a whole host of associated medical services. It stands out as a particularly collaborative project, with Naylor Love working closely with the client to achieve best-for-project outcomes despite the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic.
We spent a lot of time working with the consultants to adjust methodologies, materials and sequencing when supply chain issues arose, ensuring that both the costs and programme stayed on track. We also managed to accommodate a request for early access from the anchor tenant so they could commence their fitout.
The focus on collaboration extended to our subcontractors, with weekly planning meetings with key subs encouraging a unified approach. We covered wellbeing issues alongside health and safety at toolbox talks and pre-start meetings, which helped to foster a positive working environment.
With the Council offices directly opposite our site, we encouraged site visits and built a close relationship with the Selwyn District Council that culminated in a client-sponsored roof shout to celebrate the success of the project.
We completed the 4,000sqm, two-storey building to exemplary quality standards, delivering an easily accessible, flexible and functional healthcare facility for the fast-growing Selwyn district.
